Paint or stain front door on the internal side?
Comments (9)I agree with ctwalker, if you paint the inside of your front door white it will blend with the inside of your house especially as the door is in your lounge. On the outside a stain will look great and if you keep a path going to your front door people won't have trouble wondering where to go. All the work your doing looks fantastic keep up the good work :)...See MoreWhat white paints best contrasts stained timber french doors?
Comments (0)We are turning an old modified colonial with deep wrap around verandas into a modern farmhouse. We love the recent colour scheme we've seen emerging on old colonials and queenslanders of fresh white exteriors and interiors which really contrast stained honey coloured timber doors and windows and let them stand out and sing. But we're trying to nail down specific paints for walls and trims that do it. Has anyone done a similar colour and got advice? Cheers, hive-mind!...See Morenew front door help with stain colour
Comments (6)I'd be worried that red brick , presumably white door jambs , then a walnut or mahogony ( dark walnut ) look door will look cliched 70's . A cedar or even something like Jarrah will be different enough to the brick ( again , making the assumption you have crisp white or similar to break the tones ) to look the part IMO . Of course , the actual design of the door will have a slight bearing , but personally I can't think of too many options where I would prefer a walnut or mahogony tone , unless you were really embracing the era and have yellow dimpled glass inserts too haha ....See MoreWhat is this wood stain colour and will it work with my golden oak?
Comments (3)To me it looks like the wood has been sanded back and finished with a tinted wax but I can’t discount the pictures being edited to remove the orange tone or showing up different on the screen. Are you sure the downstairs floor is hardwood? I would find a spot that you could do a few test sands and stain/wax tests....See MoreAna G Wilkinson
