Comments (4)I had pure wool in my former house, it always had fluff ... Even 10 years down the track ... The other thing is it had some type of bug eating it ... It did feel great but I am keen at looking at new carpets that are natural & low allergy ... Love the feel of them but been a little while since I looked as it is the last thing that will go into our home when we finish Reno ( ps still love pure wool...See MoreNew carpet and vinyl plank ideas
Comments (11)I always like a window that comes close to the floor. Can you do hardwood instead of carpeting? The carpets you are looking at strike me as less easy to keep clean. They aren't a flat surface so that dirt may get trapped?...See MoreNeed help choosing carpet
Comments (9)Hi me me PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) carpet yarn is a polyester and is usually solution dyed. Unlike nylon, Polyester has a very good stain resistance particularly when it is solution dyed however it is extremely prone to flattening, particularly in doorways stairs and track areas. (I would not use this carpet on stairs) Nylon has a better flattening resistance but is not as good for stains without additional treatment (eg STAINMASTER) PET needs to be vacuumed AT LEAST weekly with a beater style upright vacuum otherwise it begins to look matted within a month or two. If you are going to select a solution dyed polyester, my tip would be to get the tightest and thickest version you can, and make up some of the offcuts into mats for the doorways by getting them edged at a rug overlocker. Re shedding, this type of carpet does not usually shed beyond the initial few vacuums. My choice would be the solution dyed nylon in at least an extra heavy duty grade with the best underlay you can get (helps the durability and feels softer) Cheers...See MoreHow much is worth paying for a new rug carpet?
