I would be worried if my roof took charge and lorded it Over me. With Steely resolve, it could squish me at a random time. I wouldn't like to have that hanging over my head!

Since I'm on the Tiles, heading back with my bottle, to my Gutter now, I have quite a Bond with it. Over the ridges and valleys. At least Eave will be waiting for me. Hope she won't hit me with a Bargeboard this time, in the mood for Skillion me. No, look, she's Beam ing. I think she's Hip, as skyLight as a Butterfly. She thinks I'm more handsome than clark Gable.

I've got Ironstone for entry door and posts..our walls are Beige Royal

You could try Beige Royal Half or Hog Bristle Half for fascias....this will contrast against the Colorbond Ironstone and make a real statement.

Wow, you are super organised already which is amazing!

With the colours you have put forward I think the Bush cherry would work really well as the Garage door. I would also try and match the front door stain colour as close to the Garage door as possible to keep the facade flowing.

I would suggest looking at COLORBOND® steel Woodland Grey™ as it compliments COLORBOND® steel Paperbark® well without competing too much. Taubmans Toasted Almond is very similar to COLORBOND® steel Paperbark®, so if you were planning to use Paperbark for the windows maybe look for a shade lighter so you have a little more contrast with your render.

Great choices! All of the colours come together really well and complement each other nicely. The garage door and front door stains are great and won't compete against each other. It is always important to connect the facade with your interiors and is something that can be easily forgotten.

Hello @deansmith190379, COLORBOND® steel Dune® is a great colour to use with Ironstone® as they compliment each other well due to their undertone of grey. Dune® can contrast neatly without competing too much against the darker shades. Be sure when selecting external colours that it will reflect your Internal colours as well. This will create an even flow as you walk from the outside in.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on using Colorbond Ironstone for gutters and fascia (roof staying unpainted zinc), Colorbond Paperbark for weatherboards, window and door trim Colorbond Surfmist? House in Western Qld on a cattle property - loads of red dust. Love light greys but Colorbond Shale Grey just looked too stark on a test patch and Dune seemed purplish to me.... though my neighbour has it and it looks great on her house? My main question was does Surfmist go with Paperbark?

Hi @btgroat, Surfmist® definitely works with Paperbark®. The main thing to remember when choosing external colours is that all colours appear lighter outside and also at different times of the day. So Surfmist® will appear a bright white outside, especially against darker colours. Both Paperbark® and Dune® work well with Ironstone® and Surfmist®. I would suggest following the colour scheme from the inside of your home to the outside. Don’t be afraid of undertones to the Dune® as the colour always changes in the light.

Hi there ive just started building and need some advice about colours that the interior designer has helped me choose. I just want to make sure the colours dont look too dark/stark.

Roof and guttering is Colorbond Ironstone. House will be rendered Dulux Grand piano half strength however there will be some stone around the bay window and other areas of frontage (colour yet to be chosen). Down pipes Ironstone as well as all windows. Front verandah posts also matched to Ironstone. Rollerdoor Surfmist.

Will all the Ironestone be too much? Any advice would be welcome!

Apologies @roseerc1, The majority of roofing products are selected in a darker tone such as your Ironstone®. Visually the roof takes up only 1/3 or less of what the eye sees when looking at a façade. The main colours that determine the light or darkness of the home are the render and garage door. These two colours on your home are nice and light so we think overall the home won’t feel too dark at all. We hope that helps.

Hi. I have colourbond Ironstone guttering & facia on my rendered house...close to classic cream colour. What colour should I paint the window frames and my decking out the front. I tried the ironstone colour on the windows but they look far too dark and heavy against the sandstone colour of the rendered walls. Any advice appreciated. Giselle

Great combination of light and dark you have there. We think, a mid-grey like COLORBOND® steel Shale Grey™ or COLORBOND® steel Windspray® would look fantastic as a transition from the dark and light that you already have. They are also both cool tone greys which will work with the blue base of your OLORBOND® steel Ironstone®.

Hi, we are extending upstairs over a older red brick home. we have Ironstone windows, gutters, roof. We are going to render the extension but don't want to go lighter like a Dune colour but more of a medium grey. We will be replacing our posts and garage door with timber (also have a timber gate) so I feel like we can get away with a darker grey upstairs render. Do you know a good medium grey that goes well with Ironstone? Initially I was thinking Simone Weil and maybe even Guild Grey if it's not too dark?

I am thinking of having our roof and gutters/facia painted in Ironstone but we have existing roller shutters in classic cream (which I don't love but they have to stay). Any advice on what colour to paint the rendered walls and windows? I would also like to add some wood slat detail to the front entry and over the carport so will also need a stain colour to compliment. Thanks

Hi we want to paint our home, which is a combo of warm bricks with a (warm creams, tans, hint of terra, tad of random small dark splashes of dark burnt black type) on the lst floor with weather board on the 2nd level with tin roof.

We were thinking the roof to be Surfmist, gutters Ironstone, the facsia and weather boards Paperbark.

we will be having the small balcony in black pool fence railling with wood top to be painted a colour ?Ironstone or Paperbark or Surfmist.

Hi...the Colorbond colours will work...in regards to the balcony railing this depends on whether you would like it to stand out or make it a focal point. If you want the railing to blend with the black uprights you could you could paint it black. If you want to make the rail stand out a little your could paint it in Colorbond Paperbark (same as weatherboards). Surfmist may be too contrasting for the rail with the black.
