Do all 10 chairs need to be at table all the time or can it be 8 chairs and 2 you bring over from somewhere else for large sit downs? DIAL UP YOUR CHAIR sizes to be proportional to table so, as to not look like child size chairs. Restoration Hardware furniture is over sized and generous proportions compared to many other retail sellers. Just any chair could be easily dwarfed by the RH table and look tiny. Here are a couple of my favorite modern chair makers KNOLL Brno flat bar chair which can be bought at auction and recovered in leather or vinyl of your choice and David Edward Furniture made for corporate, resort and colleges and available through dealers, I am showing here as a "host chair". Other "host" chair items possible of course. I just like this one.

I'll have the same dilemma when I eventually move. The first thing that I will be doing is buying some large, neutral coloured rugs, probably jute or sisal (or similar), to help juxtapose the light timber floors with the dark timber furniture. I think having a "break" between the two timber styles/colours is a good idea. I'll personally be aiming for some kind of combined Japanese and Scandinavian interior design. Hi Jayrees, I totally agree with what Kat had to offer, I would suggest a non geometric pattern on the rug as the floor is already geometric, a light colour and subtle pattern if you prefer a pattern. The mirror should definitely be moved and I would consider a large light print to compliment the new rug and and drapes. It's a pity that the window screen blocks the view (it's a nice view) but the heavy screen is a necessity these days, I would remove the stickers from the glass to help with the openness. Just noticed that you have an air con in the room so you may be able to remove the screen.

They all look good, but it all comes down to clearance. How low is your ceiling? How tall is your tallest visitor? How long is the light fitting? Will the light fitting look good if it is close to the ceiling, or will it look cramped and foreshortened? When I moved into my current home (with a taller ceiling than yours), I got an electrician to hang a row of pendants down the length of the hallway so they would be 5 cm taller than my family's Uncle Colin (who was by far the tallest regular visitor). Now twelve years later, Uncle Colin has passed, and my little boy (who was six years old when the pendants were hung) has grown to be 192 centimetres (6'6") and needs to duck everytime he goes to his bedroom.
