Our bedrooms are so tiny that I fitted mirrors on the wardrobe doors to give the illusion of space. It has made a huge difference, especially as the usual method, of putting the mirror inside the doors, was unworkable because of lack of space. In the guest room too it improves the light. The doors are not sliding, though I did consider it. But they can only slide in twos in the guest room, while hinged doors give you the full width to get at. I agree that somehow sliding wardrobe doors always seem to cover something you want to get at. Also here they need to be lockable, and that's not easy to do with sliding. So they are hinged. This is not a house for wheelchairs, the configuration is too limited and it would be a major job even to get a bathroom wheelchair accessible. The tiny bathrooms don't have enough wall space to allow for wider doors, even if I wanted it. Fortunately being tiny they are just fine for seniors needing some support: I am about to install shower grabs but everywhere else there is something to hold onto. No room for a sliding door there either. The guest room door and the kitchen door are sliding, again because the house is tiny and hinged doors get in the way. Only the master bedroom has a hinged door, but it goes back against the wall...there is a 6" deep space between it and the wall, and I filled it with a floor to ceiling rack of cds. The door hides it, for the most part. The guest room door slides behind a chair, the kitchen door alongside the fridge. I'm not a fan of feng shui. But if a client insists then I try to make designs feng shui compliant. Or vastu compliant - this is the Indian version of feng shui. However I do put a small mirror on any wall enclosing a void, like a lift shaft, because a friend insisted. It's no big deal and it makes her happy.

I agree about the idea of putting roller blinds on your door , matching the colours of the others must mention about Annie Sloan paint : it is a chalk paint and you can apply it on any wood surface with at having to use primer, what " seals" the pain is the Annie Sloan wax you apply afterwards. You can Buy Annie Sloan on line , i use Annie Sloan a lot.it is expensive if you want the legs painted black to be smooth, just paint and wax , but one coat of Annie Sloan does not give a good coverage. It you want it " distressed" slightly, then just sand a few it on the edges afterwards, before the waxing With a slight " distressed" leg look, but you would need to give the top of the table a light sanding to " rough it up" on the edges if you want a good solid, coverage, Annie Sloan is not the right choice have a look on eBay, I have just bought some cages light to fit near my table outside ( I was just playing around with them yesterday before the electrician comes toda), they were only like $46 each

Our cabinet maker threw in the strip lighting. I thought it was a nice but unnecessary extra; something I wouldn’t have asked for. But like you, I’m so glad it’s there - no working in your shadow. It’s brilliant. An absolute must in any future kitchen reno now. The MW is good but a bit impatient - it beeps too much! We had a 20yr old Sharp carousel, so the new one was a bit of a tech leap. It‘s pretty easy to get used to. We use the combo function a lot, and the rice program does a great job. Wish it cleaned itself tho! Since seeing your fridge, I’ve been on alert every time ours makes a weird noise, hoping this is it - bang - ceased motor. New fridge! Keep us updated about your window coverings. Cost depends on pot size, so the larger the plant, the bigger the pot and the more expensive. The smaller potted plants are usually much younger so take a few years to get to the same size as those available in the larger pots. If you are buying in bulk you should negotiate with the nursery as some will include free delivery with orders over a certain value, or a certain number of plants.
