Thanks all. I love Cool, Calm, Collected - it's only a suburb away from where I live... their prices are normally $$$, but they have beautiful stuff. I actually already have that West Elm light fitting in my stair case! (How embarrassing) - I love it (and they actually have it in brass in the USA but not here). Whoever suggested light in the box, thanks, I don't think I've seen that site before. my suggestion has access to the walk in pantry (and laundry) through the kitchen with an optional sliding glass door...the "extra pantry" on the right uses the space INSIDE the dividing wall for tall, shallow cabinets with multiple adjustable shelves, deep enough for most cans, bottles, glasses, sauces, oils, cups etc etc The walk in pantry could have counters, under bench drawers and wall storage.. re-arranging the kitchen allows space for microwave, mixer etc - be kind to each other in your very first home

So, what color did you eventually choose? I am really interested because the house we have just bought has similar color ceilings. I was also wondering about the color of the light fittings. I think that I will get some color changing LED light bulbs and have them installed all around the house. I like them more because you can both use them as a regular bulb or change the color to any you would like. It is also possible to control them using an app on my phone, making it so easy to control them. Now I think that it would be the most reasonable decision if I installed white bulb fittings so they look good with all the colors the bulb can make.

I would definitely remove the animal on the floor and cushions. And the Italian pedestal and floral display. Try the deer print on the black wall in the lounge area. Try it on the right hand side of wall at eye level, after you take the pedestal away. Put your tall table decoration onto the white buffet, where the deer was. Can you remove the shiny light fittings that are in the dining room space. They seem not to work. Install led down lights. As the existing lights seem not to be where you have your table. This is my opinion. Everyone's tastes are different.
