Window treatment for odd shaped windows.
Comments (18)I would go with white plantation shutters - keeps your architectural look/lines. You can also select the shutters to have two parts in one panel also for the ones down the bottom - so half way have one part (of one so its not two different ones) you can shut completely and the top part you can adjust to still see but with complete privacy in the bottom (you could have in the morning when lying in bed), or you open and shut them around the same amount. I did that in my hall way so that I can completely close the bottom half but the top part of the same shutter I can open slightly for the light etc etc but still have privacy. Shutters give you so many possibilities for privacy, lighting etc depending on the person....See MoreWindow treatments
Comments (3)Your curtain or blind choice really depends on what look you are trying to achieve and whether or not you need your window treatments to provide a thermal block. My first thoughts are sheer linen curtains in a mushroom or beige colour, similar to your lounge to soften the dark window frames and leather couch....See MoreWindow Treatment Query
Comments (12)I have done extensive research because I have same problem as yours. For the bedroom get double roller blind one is sunscreen you can see out during the day but no privacy at night and the other blind is either block out or light filtering. As far as sunscreen goes the darker the colour the better the view outside, so you can go black , but I would not have the second blind in the same colour because once it's down at night you have this huge black window in front of you, not that nice. You would be better of matching your block out blind to you wall or other furniture or bedding in the room. Instead of roller blind you can have Roman blind . I have gone with Roman's because they are fixed at the cornice level and a bit wider then the window so it looks softer and yes I used textured fabric. If your windows are big it's worth investing in motorised blind but only for the one that will be going up and down all the time not sunscreen. It's about $700 per motor. ( I should be a blind consultant lol)....See MoreMixed window treatments
Comments (4)Hi JC Harry, the 2 window treatments should work together especially if they are close to each other. How that is achieved can be done in many ways. The roman blind could be the same fabric, it could have an element of the curtain fabric or vice versa - some of the design decisions I take will consider the rest of the room, the fabric selection suitability, proportions, and of course client requirements including style and budget. If you are in Sydney area, we would love to hear from you if you require assistance with your project. All the best, Louise - Decoro Custom Interiors....See MoreWendy Roberts
