I love the idea of your cupboards 'floating' between two windows. OK, thinking about the whole privacy issue, let's treat it a bit like a risk assessment... I gather we're talking about the side of the house, gap, fence, gap, neighbour's wall. Concentrating on the splashback window, it seems there are two issues, the neighbour looking in from their window and a random peeper. It seems to me the probablity of the neighour looking in is fairly high, more from useage, rather than deliberate spying. The consequence, lack of privacy. What controls can you put in place: solid wall (no window), screen along fence to minimise sight line (probably fairly easy, depends on fence), smart glass (expensive), blinds (aesthetics and practicality/cleaning issues). Residual risk/issues is a bit hard to quantify, as it really comes down to would you be comfortable in your own home with the lights on and the control/s in place. Moving on to the Random Peeper, which to my mind the likelihood is a lot lower. Consequence is the same as above, so IMO has a lower ranking. Controls: Barrier as in a fence or gate to reduce easy access (should be fairly straight forward), smart glass and blinds as above. Residual risk, as above. What do you think?

Hi Neeno, I've seen the use of Zebra ( vision ) ROLLUP blinds with one for each side that will cover down to the lower half window rather than having four blinds and have them fitted to the outside top edge and to the side edges of the pelmets ( window frames.) (If you get to see utube video clips your see what I mean . ) The avantage of doing it that way will allow you to buy only two blinds rather than four . The cost difference between two blinds and extra fabric required to cover the two windows will most likely be cheaper than the extra cost of two extra roll tube mechanism / chains etc etc. when fitted in the recesses of the windows . Also ,due to the bulkeness of blinds , two would no doubt look better than four doing it the way I suggested . Fitting to the timber edges will offer a couple of advantages . One of which will clear the windout handles fitted to the opening widows . Two ,will offer better light reduction from night time lights as the blinds will cover right to frame edges. Three , the design of the Zebra blinds only requires a few inches of the chain movement to close up or open up for vision out or add privacy where normal blockout ROLLUP blinds needs more adjustments and will not offer the same privacy options that the Zebra blinds can offer . Also, if in bed you can open the Zebra blinds slightly by a few inches or roll up just above the top of the lower window ,depending on how much vision and privacy you need and look out of the window whilst still in bed. Being such narrow windows, the small bit of wall between them proberly would not mater if one blind fitted at the top came down over that wall area down to the bottom window. Also you should concider the solar film tinting to offer improved privacy and insulation & fade protection etc for when blinds or even curtains etc are opened up altogether . Although I'm in Tasmania , I have a manufacturer I deal with on the mainland that could arrange sale / installation if required using the Zebra blinds or other types as well contacts for window

Hi Robin, Window treatment with louver's Blinds or full length curtains may be installed in conjunction with your louvre windows to help darken interior spaces or provide shading from the sun in any room if required. This also provides for privacy, light, thermal insulation etc. inside your property. When selecting your louver's, remember that the top blade can be fixed to assist with the installation of the blind or curtain above the window. Low profile handles should also be selected as the shape provides a proper fit that won’t get in the way of the curtains when opening or closing them, especially when in the open position. In an internal room, choose a high mounted track with a wave curtain running across the whole width of the window. Also place the curtain rod as high above the window frame to really frame the entire window and cover the louver blinds when closed. This also makes the space appear much larger than what it is and allows the eye to roam to the top of the curtain, making the space also appear to have a higher ceiling than it has currently especially with vertical stripe curtains.
