That's a nice door. Unless the front door faces West, you can use wood. Western sun comes in low and hot. Otherwise a paint colour from your bricks, or a contrasting colour, that's not dark.

You could be brave and have a colour, such as red, and offset it with one or two matching planters nearby. The screen would make the door more subtle and it might just liven up the scene.

Not wood as that would be overkill with nice decking and interior boards. Not horizontal panels as vertical match your sliding Windows. Why do you want to replace door? Why not paint it? Fancy door handle prob not necessary as have a security screen wch blends in with Windows do wouldn't take off metal. Unless door is not solid (which is better for insulation and reduction noise) don't need to replace. If door not solid then replace with plain or maybe a vertical pane but unless glass laminated cold will come in.

I like black to match your Windows or blue which goes great with timber not sure if red would go with your grey walls. Good luck!

@girlguides... quite right about red. Black or glass would suit better. A colourful pots would be nice on the deck for a bit of cheer..

Hi Nick, I think you should retain the existing door and paint it in the colour that is used for the existing highlight colour, this will tie in nicely with the existing windows and the screen door. I think the door you have selected is a very nice door, but it won't be seen behind the screen anyway. You could also swap your pots on the verandah over to a gloss black and put in a plant with a nice bright flower (red or white bloom) for a splash of colour. The existing door is water damaged at the bottom from rain. I have just finished the verandah and the next step was the new door. I have since purchased the horizontal panel (only noticed the vertical recommendation) doors and began the process of painting it in 'naval' (sherrwin Williams). Should be done tomorrow and I'll be sure to post a final picture.

My last job is to put a balustrade between the posts. Considering marine rope or steel

Hi Nick I believe a front door that matches the style of the screen door , with two glass top panels running vertical that fits where screen wire is it should line up also let's light in front entrance and also matches style of front windows of your home .Eleanor hope this helps.

I like the door ok, if I were you I would paint the door a navy or a deep blue. I have a bit of an obsession for burnt orange and navy.

What you've done so far looks great and I like the sound of 'naval' for the door outside. I'd leave the screen door as is.

A balustrade could look a bit busy unless you do something very simple. The steel option, if black, would be my preference, something sleek like replicating the crosses on the windows, if anything. It would create a lovely private space for sitting and watching the world go by especially with some nice potted plants. I'd like to see it across the entire verandah with access from the driveway only if that works for you.
