Hi Anne, The colours of your bedroom don't have to match your ensuite but it is important to keep some consistency between these two spaces. As an example, you could have off-white walls with white linen and some light blue (or even peacock) soft furnishing (cushions, throw, a tuffted ottoman at the bottom of the bed or a bedroom chair), and then have bedside lamps with burgundy shades, and maybe some cushions with a flowery pattern that combines cream, blue and burgundy together... This is, of course, just an example. You will have to see what colour combination would work best for your space, depending on the light entering the room, the existing flooring, the style of your furniture and, last but not least, your tastes. But the idea is to inject your bedroom with small hints of some of the colours present in your ensuite. I hope this helps :)

If this was my place, I'd definitely install a skylight (even just a DIY solatube which someone suggested), then depending on budget I'd make these changes:- - replace floors with light colour timber floorboards since they never date - replace furniture with light colour furniture in both lounge and kitchen - paint kitchen and hutch white - add some plants in white pots - go for large light coloured wall art - replace curtains with roller blinds to maximise light I love the bluestone - it will look amazing when you've added some lighter colours to the room!

Hi, yes plaster and render/cement on frames is an unavoidable side effect of wet trades. We have tried covering them, installing them without glazing, everything possible but you still get a little bit. Just rub them back. re gapping the skirting, it is usually done by either the painter or the chippie, depending on the cause and the individual trades. as a heads up for the painting throughout, use a sealer undercoat first on the walls,ceiling and timber. It helps coverage and gives a proper adhesion for the paint. If you are doing the ceilings use a 22mm nap. It will reduce roller lines and again gives a better coverage. rub it ALL back between coats, not just the patches. You can get sanding pads on poles and a bit of elbow grease will make a huge difference to the finish, particularly on the timber. If you want to really see how your patching is going, grab a 500w hand head lamp and shine it across the walls up close and you will be able to see everything. cheers
