Help with our Kitchen space!
Comments (30)Hi Julia, the new pantry is only 30cm deep which going by Ramans measurement of 31cm it will fit beautifully, and a great depth for a pantry. I have already mentioned that he will need to remove the kick board at the rear and side of the new pantry so it fits and is flush into the corner. And yes with my old program I used a wall in place of a panel which I don't have but when you look at that in 3d the wall shows all the way to the ceiling which isn't what I intended. But you will notice that I have again explained that he will need to have a panel the same as the kitchen material to give it a built in look and won't expose the side of the fridge which faces the new pantry. Cost wise this is the best with maximum extra storage. Hopefully Raman can line the new pantry up with the top of the other cabinets keeping the Airconditioner where it is. The second floor plan is just something he might like to consider once he gets over the enormous effort of buying their new home as this will give even more storage. Adding two new 800cm x 30cm pantries with 40cm doors , this exact width to be confirmed and or adjusted by Raman once the fridge is fitted. This is very cost effective and will add that much needed extra storage and the doors will keep everything tidy and keep little hands accessing the pantries. Raman I did this floor plan for you so that it will be easier for you to visualize how your kitchen can look, Very exciting moving into your new home cheers...See MoreWould you do white epoxy floor?
Comments (13)Alenka, thanks for sharing those photos. How wonderful. When I moved up to the Macedon Ranges I swore I didn’t want exposed brick or wood paneling. I’d only lived in Victorian, federation or cal bungalow houses in Melbourne, though I appreciate mid century modern design. Then I fell in love with and bought the house in the photo (but hate the light fitting). Even though our family circumstances changed and we had to sell I still love the authenticity of the materials, the attention to detail and the connection all of the rooms have with the outdoors, including main bathroom and toilet. Really bad orientation though so it was cold and dark and very hard to heat in winter. Cool in summer however. Our new build will draw on some of the best aspects of this house, and will include internal recycled brick walls in some rooms for thermal mass and interest, indoor outdoor flow and courtyards, raked ceilings etc, but 8 star energy rating and oriented to take advantage of northern light. I love your house....See MorePoll: Please help, which type of flooring do you prefer?
Comments (8)Price check everything before deciding. Many people take too much advice from salespeople who want to sell you just what they have. A solid timber flooring isn't really that much more than a timber floating floor. I've found the cost difference is having the solid floor sanded and polished, oiled, etc. only. There is some quite expensive floating floor options and some really cheap ones. Buyer beware!...See More1955 little beauty.
Comments (39)@siriuskey not related to this thread per se but I believe all cabinetry with the exception of timber comes with white laminate inside (unless you order custom and pay for the inside to be painted). We just had black cabinetry installed in our lounge and the back of the doors are white. I was shocked so contacted everyone I know with new kitchens in dark colours and they ALL had polyurethane cabinets with white laminate on the back of dark/coloured doors....See Moresuzineedsahouse
