Need help with uneven window placement
Comments (6)@kiwi08, Very early days into the building, FIXIT, don't do this or that to make it work if you don't like it!!! For goodness sake, don't put up this when it's easy to change. Get floor to ceiling winows or take them out all together, after all if you're putting a tv there you don't need windows either side and I don't think you will be sitting on a window seat on either side of your tv. Do a book case if need be and have no windows , but change it and be happy. Cheers, Barbara...See Moreneed help for space and light in new one bedroom apartment
Comments (5)I agree, a unified floor will help with the feeling of a bigger, uninterrupted floor. I think the white on walls is fine, although I also think a soft but warmer tone might be suitable so the ambience is still warm and inviting. I can see an angled wall that appears lighter than the left of kitchen, I would hang a large mirror on this wall, to create a false room beyond, the angle will help reinforce this idea, and is a nice touch to a dining area, however informal. I would also take your lounge and try to position it facing your window. I assumes there's one in the far end we cannot see, the sofa could be away from the island back creating a walkway, and consider relocating your sideboard below it elsewhere. I can imagine it even along the back of the sofa as a console table, a lamp on top would create the perfect scenario for night reading and ambient light....See MoreNeed help with stairs placement
Comments (11)it's only about 3 steps and should be less than 60cm high but i'd keep the steps under 1 m wide to avoid stealing space from the dining area but what about a fence along the edge of the walkway with an optional gate or door across the steps. the "fence" could be made up of a storage cabinet built up from the dining room floor with access from the dining room and the new hallway to the new bathroom would create more storage but include privacy for the new bathroom even if parts of the screen wall didn't reach the ceiling...not fond of access to the laundry through the bathroom, i'd prefer in AND out through only one door from the family room with no external access door and a simple laundry chute from new Bath to laundry...See MoreAdvice on furniture placement needed
Comments (21)I hope you've already found a great furniture arrangement for your living room by now, but if you're still looking for advice, I'm here to help! When it comes to optimizing the space in a living room with a front entry, it's essential to find a balance between functionality and aesthetics. Here are a few suggestions that might be helpful: Consider placing the couch against the back wall to create a clear pathway from the front entry into the living room. If you have additional seating options like chairs or loveseats, position them in a way that complements the couch and allows for easy conversation and movement within the room. Don't forget about the power of rugs and decor. A strategically placed rug can visually separate the entryway from the living area, adding a sense of organization and style.
