Hi Catherine, to help others make suggestions that will be suitable, would you be able to post a drawing of your room please - wall sizes & where the windows/doors are positioned? That way your space can be personalized for you. I think feature walls can look really good in certain spaces... but I think if you like it, do it :) it can easily be repainted over, especially if you have concerns down the track of resale... do what you love & what makes you happy- it will make your office space a happy place that you’ll want to be in & will bring out the best in you & your work :) I’ll be personally interested in responses about a good chair to save your back too... have you found any ergonomic chairs you like? I think your chair purchase will need to be done in store vs online so you can sit on a few & make sure they are a good fit for you & your spine, especially as you’ll be sitting in it for extended periods. As for gadget recommendations, I’m as untech savvy as they come lol - again I’ll be following with interest :)

Every office has its own requirement. To make office looks good there should be painted with a light colour so can draw a painting on it. Also, you can add some interiors like a showpiece, plants and some wall clocks. You can also add shelves with books where employees can read. You can also add some table clocks.

By focusing on furniture placement first you will be able to more easily work out where to put the art. Can you move the desk to the other end of the room so you can see who walks in the door and look out the window? some art or a bookshelf at the door end will give you something to look at too. You could also consider replacing the couple of chairs with a two seater couch in front of the TV. Or replace the TV with a big artwork.

1. Noise cancelling walls, if you have children, no matter where they are in the house, you can still hear them. 2. Space and or everything has a place, some people thrive in chaos, most don't. Have a drawer where you stuff things in so its out of your face and clean it later. 3. Surround yourself with inspirational things, some like posters with words, some like sculptures, books, games. Whatever motivates a person to get in the zone to do what is necessary in these rooms should be highlighted somewhere in the room if not everywhere in the room. 4. A clock, should try to limit yourself and set time frames for things so you know your on point. 5. Keep it a toy, food, junk, washing free zone. Don't have these things in this room period. 6. Calendar, planner something to get your task management on point. 7. Quality Electronics. Don't compromise as they date rather fast and this years computer will be next years paperweight. Buy something that can be upgraded with just parts for a few years. 8. Lighting, you need to make sure you can see what your doing, most people are on computers or laptops or an ipad these days, but old school still use pen and paper so having a desk lamp for night time or windows, solar lights during the day are also good. 9. Plants, we all know they help keep the air blah blah blah, but good oxygen means better brain processes. 10. If budget permits, NOT IKEA FURNITURE, its been done a gazillion million times and it still looks the same old boring blandness as it looks in the catalogue.
