bump- hoping others can help

My Dad put down floating floors in living, dining and kitchen some years ago now. The product was from Bunnings mid range. Has worn very well and survived a few overflows, and Dad is not a good or helpful house keeper. He replaced slate and carpet.

We had laminate floating floors for 7 years, when purchased was told they were high quality and commercial grade 20 year warranty, and were laid by the store. We have just replaced them with vynal plank so happy, the laminate had worn terribly at the edges and scratched every where, very noisy even with under lay, and so painful to keep clean with spraying with a water metho mix wiping and then drying and they still lifted at the edge. Would never put laminate down again. We might have got a bad batch and we did try to claim on warranty but the store argued it was water damage and would do nothing. When we pulled them up the underlay had no marks on it from water.

I haven't used floating timber laminate flooring myself but we went with bamboo and couldn't be happier. It looks like timber but is really hard wearing and doesn't show dirt or dog hair.

We have 2 kids under 4 and a dog and the boards have stood up to some serious punishment, including lots of spills. We've laid it in our kitchen, hallway, entry and dining room and all areas look as good as when we put it in (about 5 years ago).

The original floor was vinyl on concrete.
