Hi All, Piggybacking on this post for boundary fence colour feedback please. We have Colourbond Gully on the roof and a section of the house is painted to match. The rest of the house exterior is Dulux natural white (50%). Aggregate at front and back is Holcim acacia. Gully is not available as a fence colour so isn't an option. The garden will be started from scratch, so there isn't any current plantings to consider. I personally think Dune is a better tonal match but am worried its too light and wont make the plantings pop like Woodland grey would. I'd take out those bitty little windows and put in full width glass bi-fold door going out to the new deck over the garage. I'd also put in put in seamless sliding windows to the left (looking at the photo) which would make your view even better as well. Painting the exterior would transform the house as would removing the current garden and replacing with a more attractive design making sure it won't interfere with your view down the track. Nothing you're thinking about is cheap to do so I'm assuming it's your 'forever' house? If not a lick of paint and landscaping will enhance the appearance greatly. As is it kind of looks like a cruise ship to me, if you're quirky you could make that work for you. Darker colour on the ground floor, lighter on top with nautical features. You could keep the little windows/cabins then. I have a vivid imagination haha. Good luck with whatever you decide, show us the finished product.

I can't quite follow what you mean by 'we must keep the red roof' ? Are you not painting it , or repainting in the same colour , or would you consider a different shade ? Personally , with the White Duck , I'd go for a bolder red roof , with black or charoal gutterings , stay with the crisp white windows and veranda uprights , and the end detailing on the roof , but the window sills I'd do the same red shade as the roof , and the deck a mid grey . Oh , and also , although its cliche'd , I'd do a 1 metre tall white picket fence and double gates in the crisp white , get rid of the wire mesh haha , so everything about the house and fence looks crisp and themed , but also 'period' .

Hi, You've received some great ideas above, and definitely landscaping will play a pivotal role in softening the facade of your house and providing street appeal. As you are looking to sell it's important to look to the street your building on and the colours of the houses around you too. Will you be having the front facade fully rendered as above? If so keep the tones neutral to appeal to a wider market. This size house is probably going to appeal to a professional couple which means they will want something with not too much maintenance. A colorbond roof is a great choice for security and ease of maintenance. Choosing a charcoal like Monument for your roof and gutter adds depth. Consider Surfmist for the Fascia as this will lift and lighten the front. For the Front Portico Piers I would choose a contrasting render colour to add depth to the design. Your window frames should match your roof. If you do an Aluminium framed front door this colour will be the same as your windows and you would want to match your front door to it. If you do a timber front door frame you can paint your front door and frame the same colour. which will be more consistent and appealing to the eye. I wouldn't suggest doing anything too wild colour wise for your front door as you have a narrow facade and it will polarise buyers. Keep your garage door as close as you can to your render colour to give your facade the illusion of size. An exposed aggregate driveway in a colour such as Labassa would pull it all together. Depending on where you are building, the other consideration is Developer Guidelines. If you are doing a knock down rebuild this won't affect you, however if you building in a new estate your Developer may require you to stick to a colour palette they have created.
