I just noticed you posted a duplicate dilemma. After viewing photos of your home, I think the paint colors I suggested are Perfect-AND-DEFINITELY paint the ceiling one of the 2 colors mentioned. When selecting a rug, consider one with texture, subtle pattern, and at least a shade or 2 darker than the floor. Best of Luck!

Oh dear, I've been through all these 'trends' .. Terracotta : the 90's , tiled my whole house in terracotta Cork : got rid of lots of cork tiles, walls and ceilings in a house that we bought and renovated - in the 90's Jewel Green : had an awesome jewel green suede lounge from Freedom - in the 90's haha !! I would love a jewel green velvet lounge but I'm never going terracotta again !!

That timber top on the vanity would be tricky to makeover unless you had a piece of composite stone cut for it, or even a squared off laminate counter. It all depends how much freedom/budget you have. Can you see a time in the future that you are likely to update the bathroom completely? For now, it might be simplest to just paint the walls above the tiles Antique White USA and purchase a black bakelite toilet seat/lid. Replace the cabinet knobs with some shiny black round ones and the room will take on more of a classic 1920s feel as opposed to Victorian meets 1990 one.

@Cee, Yes precisely what can happen with whites. I know nothing either but my daughter has a fabulous eye for what's in a colour that quite frankly bewilders me as I simply can't see the blue, pink or orange tone so I was lucky that all the colours my daughter chose all matched each other and in my case were all warm tones which I love. If you have an artist as a friend that would help you no end but otherwise take the colour cards or names of the paints you've already used to a paint store and they'll help you chose or even get yourself a colour wheel and spin it around and try to determine what you've used on your walls and look at the colours opposite to your colour or lastly get someone from the paint store to come and see your furnishings and they would be able to find colours that work for you.
