Could you swap the fridge with the wall oven, going by your photo both fridge and Wall Oven would fit side by side. I would definately have the fridge on the cook top wall and not on the other side of the kitchen. I see by the photo that the timber beam could be in the way, I would speak to your plumber who should have a simple solution on ducting the range hood. A simple one built into a special cabinet above the cooktop can recirculate or be ducted outside by either exposed stainless tube for your industrial/country look or have the ducting boxed in, the ducting can be flexable so no problem avoiding beams.

As I always explain, I'll never tell people how they should live or what they should spend, but I will help them work out the best balance between the two, and whether reno or new build, high or low budget there are ALWAYS compromises involved, and that's where good design comes into play.......my advice is whatever you do, (and this actually applies to anyone entertaining the notion of a project) understand that your best investment in the project above and beyond anything else will be in (a) establishing/rationalising/clarifying and prioritising the project goals - ie YOUR specific decisions/requirements (not your friends/family/neighbours/random ideas - and this is easier said than done!) and (b) engaging professional assistance/advice/services as early as possible to assist resolving a solution/design that expertly manages, addresses and achieves a viable and balanced solution for your home in context, particularly on a site like this.........yes there will be off the shelf options that could work but more often than not the cost you think you may save will be tipped back in dealing with with (a) potential "hidden" site costs such as retaining etc and (b) arguably less value achieved than potentially if the solution is "standardised" or forced inappropriately in context........My instinct is that you have great potential for a split level design that works to the site topography/captures views etc but maximises the unique experience of living on this particular property....... bets of luck with it :) PD

Hi, use the cat as inspiration because its colours are beautiful - (a black white and tan rug would add a little wow) and its hair will blend in too. Next just add in small touches of a green you like and more of the base colours in rugs, throws, cushions etc. As for furniture if you follow decor trends it is now the thing to NOT have matching furniture sets in the bedroom but the trick is to link everything through colour. I suggest a picture rest shelf (Bunnings) running along the back wall above the bed at eye level. Pictures (and a mirror) and bits and bobs are then on one level, look intentionally placed, keep things tidy and out of reach of little hands and you can mix and swap as seasons and events change. Plants yes, they give colour and life, then a bit of wicker/rattan or other texture in plant bases, a chair or foot stools at the end of the bed. Some nice green glass vases or candle holders etc. etc. Easy changes that allow you to save for when you want to do your big reno. I would spend your big money getting rid of the strip lighting above the bed and adding nice floaty sheer curtains.

I am getting so carried away with this... its been raining all day and we've watched a lot of tv. I have a 4 yr old too. But I promise this is the last one. the market seems inflated all over NR right now. I think its the COVID exodus.
