timber laminate benchtops?
Comments (6)They are the cheap version of benchtops. We have one in our current kitchen and, for now, it is totally fine. Not beautiful but functional and looks pretty good. In a world of stone benchtops (seemingly) they don't stand up to comparison however. But, if you go with it and you are happy with it it doesn't really matter what everyone else has! If you want to compare go to a shop like Laminex and look at all the different types they have. Other people can advise more on colour......See MoreOpinions on the 'concrete-look' laminate benchtops for my kitchen?
Comments (6)Hi there! Yeah it will look great! If you are going for Laminex or Formica, ask your designer/joiner about ABS tape edging, they can do bench tops now without the black line on the edge but it's only available in specific colours....See MoreHearth Removal - Fireplace - Stain Wood Laminate
Comments (1)i was once told that "any wood matches any other wood" and that's helped me live happily with mismatched timbers for many years..of course it's probably possible to sand and stain the floor (ask a laminate timber floor supplier) but it'll be a tedious waste of sweat and tears for an uncertain result..what about make sure the walls, ceiling, architraves and skirting boards all look great and don't worry about under the hearth if it's not being moved, maybe add a matching trim around the hearth and plan a new floor for "later"...See MoreAdvice needed for a cheap and fab benchtop
Comments (13)Thanks Bigreader, we don’t have a floor plan for the house but the relocated power points, tapware, sink and new dry walls are all happening. We won’t see power cords or washer hoses once it’s done, they will be behind the scenes. Can’t change door hinge on fridge either, we have checked that already, and we can’t extend to buy a new fridge as well as this one isn’t very old and we’ve had to buy a new washing machine as well as the hot water system. It sure does all add up!...See Morephilippawright
