We have just bought a red lounge suite and need help with accessories
Comments (55)Hi AnAhitA Nazari, I totally agree. I actually don't intend to keep the couch on that wall, it just happens to be there due to the renos we are doing at the moment. I thought one of the red chairs under that print on an angle would be better and maybe a little table with a lamp on it? I can't change the colour of the walls as we have just finished painting it so I'm stuck with it. The room is part of a big room which has a partition 5ft wall separating it from the dining room. I'm thinking of putting the sofa on that wall and the other chair on its right hand side. As for the furniture in that room I do realise it's not a great choice but they have lots of memories to me so once again I'm stuck with them lol...See MoreIs it much too red?
Comments (212)Sorry, maybe taken back by reading all the comments, but I see that the coffee table is wooden, with the dark flooring and the lounges being a dark red, definitely you need to put a rug under the coffee table to lighten it up with a pattern including some beige or maybe a bit of mustard with red or brighter blue like on the chair around the dining table. It appears there's a mixture of older style lounge and coffee table compared to the white plant stands, something to think about as in the look you are going for....See MoreWhat should I do with this rental red wall?
Comments (12)I'm what I consider a reasonable landlady and unless the paintwork is shabby, I don't allow the tenants to paint the walls, as every tenant wants something different and they are not professional painters, so it can be messy, but no harm in asking. I would hang as many things as possible on that wall to make a feature of it. ie. a couple of large paintings in your preferred colours, mirrors, photographs and anything else to fill the wall as the TV unit is definitely limiting and you will be looking at that wall every day....See MoreLandscaping advice for street appeal, 2004 red brick home
Comments (0)Help! We need some advice for landscaping ideas near the front of our house and entry way. We have already completed a rock garden edge and put in tropical plants in the raised garden bed near our mail box. We are requiring a garden that allows us to access the chemical termite barrier as we live next to a bit of bushland and termites are active in the area. We are thinking of two large potted golden canes near the entrance where that current large shrub is (shrub will be removed). This is so that when you walk from the mailbox straight through to the front door it provides a bit of privacy from the public walkway that runs parallel to our property. We were thinking of a heliconia either side of the front large window (master bedroom) and surrounded by rocks at the base and maybe some plants to fill it out to hide the pots and rocks a little? We were thinking of rock mulch for the floor. We are also putting in a front fence that will have black/dark gray vertical slats and an electric sliding gate for added privacy. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated to lift up our street appeal....See MoreSeamus McKenzie.
