You will definitely need a rug but more importantly you need to consider your other furniture in the space and the style you are going for. This is a formal table do you live a formal lifestyle? There are only four chairs, is this enough for your needs as this table does not really lend itself to an eclectic range of chairs that less formal timber tables offer. I am a great believer in not rushing choices with a new home - the right pieces will reveal themselves once you figure out how you will live in the space.
