Our home needs street appeal
Comments (16)I also would not paint or render the bricks - the ongoing maintenance is not worth it. Your house is crying out for a splash of red. The cream paint work could be in bright red. I don't like the central paved area with the hump in it. You do need to have your garden done - it would make an enormous difference to your home when done properly. A bobcat could take of that whole hump, taking the slope away from the house; currently the slope is draining towards the home. Where is north in the photo? It looks like a well built home, so be sparing on making too many changes. Its the external grounds that are letting the home down, which is so often the case....See MoreStreet appeal advice needed!
Comments (18)I found these couple of pics on houzz. I like both, in the second one (if you just look at the roof line to the right of the path) It shows how you could build the front entrance out just to give the house some shape. and there are endless choices for beautiful front doors. The roof line above the door is the same as yours, and the pic shows how you could add the additional office to the right of the door. I will also add, I am a huge fan of laser cut steel maybe you could build a sort of privacy decorative shaped wall to add balance on the driveway side of your yard, ( something substantial that really stands out) and add feature plants or pots...See MoreNeed help for giving this house a more interesting street appeal.
Comments (19)1) My cost saving suggestion to you is PAINT, this is going to give you the cheapest tool to change the Miners cottage appearance to attract attention. 2) Leave Roof as is, no Paint ,the roof being left natural to me gives it a studio edge.(and saves precious dollars 3) Wall colour in a darkish grey with all white trim, I was going to suggest a beige colour but it looks like your neighbour has these colours so that's why I'd go bold with wall & fence colour. 4) Perhaps you could build a small fence like the metal one I sent you, this would be made up with scrape material nd place to the R/H side of the driveway, can't see whats on that boundary 5) Gutter and eaves same colour as walls 6) Gates shinny black 7) Keep existing window & door shades and paint them all white, no stripes 8)Front door of your choice, Red and make the studio door a different colour to help students find there way, Yellow 9) Looks like you have a crushed gravel path running along the side of the house to the studio, try to define this from the gate so that you don't have everyone cutting across the verandah, 10) It would be good to have some screening on the Verandah, mesh or other affordable material. 11)Trim the grass, plant some hedging behind the fence and plant some red NZ flax plants off to the right side of the garden 12)Paint garage like house this would help to bulk out the building and make it look a bigger property 13) PAINT good luck...See MoreExterior/Facade Designer - any recommendations in Sydney?
Comments (9)I see a couple things straight up that need attending to. Overhead power lines through palm. Large areas of pebblecrete, just way to much. Lace Handrail. Doesn't suit the house style. The plants growing across the facia and close to side. Entry way for termite's. Not necessarily at that facia height but certainly a possibility down low. Tilt a Doors. Too white and standout too much. Either go with roller or panel lift or if in budget just one wide door. Say in the window frame colour?...See MoreA J
