Width: cover around 20cm more than your window at each side. Example your window is 200cm, curtains total width will be cover around 240cm. curtains will be around 480cm width in total after gather or with waves. Height: you need add about 20cm above the upper window frame, and fall along the bottom edge of the window frame or 25cm below. there is also a difference between ceramic and porcelain tiles - often these issues come down to a combination of (a) tile batch size/consistency (b) tiler's skill/capacity (c) communication in that if the tiler opens the tile box and he can't practically achieve what he thought he might because of the general discrepancies in size then they should at least speak to you before they start. So often with many issues in this game, it's about managing people's expectations and having open/honest discussions at the right time. When this breaks down, problems and disappointment is more likely to occur......so coming back to it, if you have high quality porcelain tiles that are millimetre perfect, square and flat then the capacity to lay them with minimal spacing is higher. Also the substrate/prep plays a part as if it's all out of whack and not perfectly straight/plumb/square then you'll be in all sorts trying to achieve the minimal tolerance detail.

Hi Narella, most manufacturers of induction cooktops such as say Miele and Smeg make their 600mm wide units around 500mm to 505mm deep (front to back) where these fit comfortably into a 600mm deep cabinet, while still allowing for all the clearances, overhangs and venting required. You may like to check with your cabinet maker but as far as I am aware NEFF make their induction cooktops much deeper; making these 546mm deep instead of 500mm. This means that your cabinets also need to be deeper than the "normal" once all the required clearances are taken into account. I am not sure what you mean when you say this will not work with the rest of your cabinets. If you are positioning your NEFF cooktop above your underbench oven as it is shown in your original photo; then it appears that your cabinet maker has again done the right thing and has actually made all your adjacent cabinets the same depth; whereby preserving these clean modernist lines of your kitchen.
