The tiles from Johnson in the UK are stunning. It appears they only come in large 30x30 ? I was thinking of doing some sort of tile art just in the middle of the backsplash with the rest just plain offwhite tile. However, with this large 30x30 art work, the background tile would have to be cut to size to fit the area I have and might look too choppy???

Hello Northstar 1 thing to remember when choosing your lights .If you want the light down choose a down facing lampholder, dont drop them to low as the GLARE from the globes in your eyes every time they are on is annoying as, every lit pendant you showed had an incandescent globe so if your going to use Fluro globes they will look worse.LED globes with a cleeear glass would be best. Avoid carbon filament even though they look great its a low light output. Depending on your budget take a look at Mondoluce on line they have some amazing glass pendants from Italy and in multiple sizes.

Hi All, It sounds like tumeric and grease are the worst culprits for staining. We are looking to put the Cloudburst in our kitchen as our island and backsplash, but I'm very nervous. I love to cook and host. I also LOVE the look of this stone and would like to make it work if we can. Are there any bakers on this thread that have experience with these countertops? If you are rolling out dough or baking with greasy dough, how has that experience been? What if you get butter/oil on it? Any tips? Do you cover the counter before doing your baking etc.? I imagine beet juice would also be a nightmare?

Hi 1vi, I think work out how wide you would like your garden bed along your wall then mass plant along that , you could plant just back from the edge so that if you put a layer of say grey stone mulch that will form a protection for the wall, you could always plant any tall tree in a root barrier so that you can contain it’s growth and keep it from doing any damage , ( similar to growing in a pot) but I think you should be ok as your Dad has made your wall pretty sturdy , looks terrific, I think mass planting looks very stylish and will definitely suit your lovely house.
