It was a dense limestone (almost a marble density) called Crema nova. Surface Gallery and Sareen Stone can both supply it. I am not sure what the suppliers call it exactly, but they should be able to track it down.
We used it as substitute to a sandstone as we wanted the sandstone look inside but with a harder wearing surface.
Is it water proof? No stone is water proof. This stone can go outside though. It is recommended to seal it before and after laying.
