Comments (19)Are they structural or decorative? If not structural it could be time to remove them and replaster a more contemporary ceiling. Or you could clad them in a gorgeous recycled timber to give them a more organic solid look. Easiest way would be to continue the charcoal paint to the beams... but lighten the feature wall to a complimentary steely gray. Some chunky timber shelves either side of the stonework with books, ornaments and lighter pictures with a pop of colour will soften it....See MoreLeft of centre option for kitchen flooring
Comments (3)the cat's colour has a nice contrast with the floor tiles but i would prefer a similar colour in a different shape or different colour in the same shape and. although you said there isn't enough tiles to salvage and/or sometimes old tiles don't survive being pulled up we successfully removed some old tiles from under new cabinets and used them to patch the visible gaps and replaced the out of sight tiles with similar colour/size/thickness new tiles to keep the floor level ...if you decide to try the contrasting pattern tiles it look good, like a carpet under a table and could have a plain narrow edge to enhance the look of a bordered carpet and i'm also wondering if a timber section could also look interesting...See MorePainting beams (high ceilings)
Comments (15)Such a beautiful house, loving the high ceilings and all the timber. I also have a black kitchen and I think the black will beautiful with all the timber. I would go black but add a touch of timber as your accent colour. I have a black kitchen, white tops and timber insert shelves. Don’t fight it, embrace it. When its all done, you may just paint out the ceiling beams in white. Love your house, have fun....See MorePainting beams and posts
