We personally like swing or pivot doors - easier to clean, space efficient and easy to assemble if you are doing it DIY. Alternatively you could use a glass screen and do away with the door all together if that's possible? Who ever is quoting on your windows, get them to run quotes on glass of various thicknesses. We ended up with 11mm glass in our stackers because the price difference between the thinner glass was negligible....we were really surprised.

are the new sliding glass doors double glazed? are the original windows single glazed or in need of replacing for any other reason? do you hate the beige colour? how many of the old windows can be seen at the same time as the new doors? ... inside looking out is the most important view for me but what do you like the look of?

You will need to look at how blinds will clear the door handle if recessed in the frame. There may not be enlightened space. Also wi5 the big door you will need to break it into two or maybe three blinds due to weight of a long span. It’s much easier to pull up a smaller blind which outweighs the negative, no pun intended. I’d look at white, But a pale green or blue may also work particularly if you can echo the colour in cushions, rug or artwork. Get the blind company to bring you samples.
