7 years agolast modified: 7 years agoLovely room. To finish it off I'd add some pieces with some more movement as it all feels very static, i.e. a round side table or coffee table and a plant or two. Perhaps something in glass and/or metal. Have attached a couple of pics for inspiration. Definitely include a nice big potted plant in one of the corners, something with some height. A fiddle leaf fig would work. Perhaps a rug too.

Comments (29)Definitely add a rug with some pattern and texture to break up the conglomerate of dark colours both with the tiled floor and chocolate modular lounge. The rug you choose will then dictate what scatter cushions to select for your lounge. You may want to consider asking your landlord if a art hanging track can be installed this way you could hang a lovely print or artwork behind sofa. With an art track it is usually powder coated white and installed just below cornice and looks like part of the cornice. You are then given by the installer acrylic hanging wires that slot into this track making it versatile to hang either a series of smaller prints or one large one and you can change as often as you like without any damage to the walls. Your artwork can also be the basis for selecting a rug and scatters. You will be amazed how by adding the rug, scatters and artwork will give instant warmth and personality to your room. You may also want to add a coffee table too. If it is a particularly beautifully patterned rug that is a real feature think of a glass coffee table so the rug can be seen. Comments (41)Hi there I think that adding in wooden decorations and real/fake plants can help bring a bit of life in to your space. And the tones of plants and wooden/nature looking items work really well with neutral colours. They can be both cheap and expensive depending on your taste so finding a bargain or something to suit your needs should be quite easy. If you want a more elegant look marble decorations even if small can be a great way to add a look of class. Candles are also a great way to add in some nice smells to invite people into your home. Comments (6)Add some colour to the room, you could use floor boards to warm up the space, with a dog, the carpet will soak in the dog smell maybe. Get a new lounge set, getting a modern couch will definitely change up the space. Leather to wipe off all the dog hair. Have curtains as those blinds are hard and a chore to clean. Just change the hardware to black railing. Instead of hanging the curtain directly on the rod use peg rings. These are cheap. Two tone the wall, Put Moulding down the bottom and make that white and add a colour or wallpaper above the wall moulding. Like a geometric pattern. Change the light fittings Put in some chairs singular, that doesn't come from the couch family tree but still has the lines and weight of the couch. I would be looking at a round coffee table or ottoman to break up the space. Adding plants on the side tables will be a great way to added some life to the space. I'd love to see some blue and white cushions on your lounge as well. Perhaps some prints on the wall (you can purchase print inexpensively online and frame in ikea frames) maybe a lamp on one of the side tables and a vignette on the coffee table, a throw for good measure.
