Help with long narrow living /dining room
Comments (9)A colourful throw over the "back" of the sofa would help to add a pop of colour and break up the "wall" of colour that the back of the sofa currently provides. I also like the other ideas for a low console table behind the table and something hanging above the fireplace on the brick wall. Depending upon powerponts, antenna cabling and your affection for the pendant light, you could completely flip the room and put the dining table near the fireplace, spin the sofa around so that the "seat" (and cushions, etc) face the entry and put the TV on the wall opposite the fireplace....See MoreL-shaped lounge room/dining room - help please!
Comments (5)You could flip the living 90 degrees to the left, making the tv along that longest wall but aligned more left obviously. Depending on how much you wanted to spend, you could invest in joinery which incorporates the tv and books, which then also adds massive amounts of storage. Could be too long of a space for this set up, but stretched out a little with a nice rug it could work well :) please show us pics when you decide!...See MoreHELP! Any ideas how to fix the living room end of our dining room?
Comments (25)First ,is removing excess furniture an option? Second, why bar fridge in the dining area, that really ruins the look. Seems that you can not move dining table closer to the kitchen because you have light pendant above the table, so can you move piano where your black couch is and couch on the other side of the room instead of creamy colour sofa . I notice the luck of coffee tables and side tables, that's probably why you like to sit around dining table, it is not visitors friendly and doesn't encourage conversation or interaction. I will come back to it have to study photos more. Are the arm chain the other room similar colour to the couch in the dining area?...See MoreWhat rug and pendant light would you suggest for the dining room?
Comments (16)Hi Jayrees, I totally agree with what Kat had to offer, I would suggest a non geometric pattern on the rug as the floor is already geometric, a light colour and subtle pattern if you prefer a pattern. The mirror should definitely be moved and I would consider a large light print to compliment the new rug and and drapes. It's a pity that the window screen blocks the view (it's a nice view) but the heavy screen is a necessity these days, I would remove the stickers from the glass to help with the openness. Just noticed that you have an air con in the room so you may be able to remove the screen....See MoreCindy Phillips
