Thanks for all the feedback! I was leaning towards keeping the original roof colour, to be honest it was my partner who wanted to consider other colours. So these comments have mainly assured me the original is ok! A brown would have been my 2nd choice. The challenge will be hiding the new mis matched tiles. I hadn't thought having the roof painted would require extra maintenance in future as it is already painted concrete tiles. My last house was the same and pressure washing it removed alot of original paint, leaving it patchy. So ended up getting that one repainted. That house was 10 yrs older though. I feel like painting the driveway would require more maintenance, but I would love to get it done properly to tone down all that orange! And yes one day soon a new garage door would be good too! I've thought about bringing brown/timber into the exterior but am scared there will be too many different colours going on if i dont do it right! So the decision on painting the roof (the same/ similar colour) after tiles are replaced is on hold for now as we are looking at adding an extension with 2nd storey at the back. If that happens we will want the new roof to match the existing. (I think!) Thanks for the ideas, much to think about!

Yes go monument!and if you go for some lime acacias out the front (tall weeping or the low bush)it would brighten up you whole look.Also adding strappy green plants that bulk up would give it a bit more of a clean look. If you don't want to go monument on roof go a light grey and tie in with a couple of tall light grey planters on either side of your door. Pleas please please!find someone with a jigsaw and cut the tops off your pickets to give a cleaner look before you paint them. I'm stating the obvious but those security screens are pretty overwhelming,can you just have them on windows that can be opened,it might not look so busy out the front.

Hi Brant, All colour schemes are great but i totally understand the hesitation in choosing. I'm the same with anything for myself! To choose a 'side' i would like to vote for: Exterior - the ocean blue for the weather boards and an offwhite for the window trims etc. Its a small front however since you have the white picket fence, and the trees, these will offset all the dark colouring on the house. Make sure the off white is on the creamy side rather than the grey/blue side or it will just be more blue/grey looking against the dark ocean blue. But then that depends on the look you want in the end. :) Interior - I'm really not a fan of painting brown, if the skirtings are wood and you're just varnishing or oiling them, then ok but not paint. You could use the same off-white for the skirtings and door trims, and a blue-toned grey for the walls. It will be like having a paler version of your outside colour-scheme and very subtly tie them together. Don't forget buying sample pots and painting on large board to get an idea of how it will look on a larger scale is also a great help. If you paint two colours on one board its better to have them meet rather than leave a gap between them. The slightest suggestion of another colour can change how you view the ones you're trying to decide between. Best of luck in your final decision. Carol
