Dining set to suit living room sofa
Comments (48)Hi all Just thought I'd give an update. Even though hubby and I discussed with each other that we will wait til we move in to get a dining table. Hubby went back to the store where we bought the sofa set to buy something, then he went ahead and bought the matching dining set because he got a good deal for it. Oh well. Thanks again to all those who helped me with this :)...See MoreWould you combine your kitchen and dining area's?
Comments (15)I like it turned that way & yes I can see you like colour too! Nice! I'm confused about about the old dining room space, is it behind the shelves still? Is this using your 8 seater which I thought you wanted to be separate? This way though is a very practical use of space especially if you have room to move it to the right when required. You may want to consider whether the microwave is better in the kitchen triangle either under the island bench (bending down to use) or beside fridge above bench. Another way is to build up one end of the island to house it there just for the safe handling of hot dishes near to a serving bench....See MoreAdvice on combining my TV and study room
Comments (17)Having a desk of any kind will always be a bit messy if you are like myself. I have placed the computer desk into the niche with the Wall Mounted TV next to it for a reason, we are like minded two screen people, me for drawing plans. The screens mounted at the correct height for the user so you are looking up and not down to avoid any neck problems. Having the screens up off the desk allows more workable space, Open storage above with a set of drawers on one side under the desk with a pull out extra desk top (Ikea ). I didn't go into a whole lot of detail with my first post, you mentioned not wanting anything in front of the window which you viewed down the passage way, Your corner lounge with extra lounge or 2 x arm chairs creates a great conversation space with a large coffee table and a great place to put your feet up while watching TV. A good reason for placing the Desk and TV side by side is to allow you to consider a sliding door to cover the office, as per this photo, which can be pulled across the TV to the wall, you would need to have a small Nib wall on the passage way end of the Niche, I would have expected that anyway You appear to be having trouble with space for your bathroom, suggest you look at a Japanese style bathroom as per the photo, you can position them across or down the room. cheers...See MorePicking a sofa set with an extreme design challenge
Comments (17)You are right - leather is the go. You could combine a soft and mid grey, or bone and tan, depending on what palette you like. You are looking for the 2 sofas to relate to each other rather than matchy matchy? My preferred look too. You could use the same sofa in different shades, that's an easy get together. Or decide on one being more of a standout - like a mid century style wooden sofa with leather cushions, and then keep the other one simple. The top photo is that mid century style and the bottom shows a sofa that would coordinate with it. (similar wood legs and square edges). I know it's in fabric but it comes in leather. And it shows you what 2 of the same sofa in different colours would look like (both leather of course)....See Morephilippawright
