Any advice if I try to figure out some of this myself? I love your color scheme. How did you decide on that granite? I found this website too . Perhaps those cabinets are not available here but just where you are. either way I can find something similiar. Did you have any issues with ordering..getting parts.. assemely? Do you have any helpful tips for designing ? Did you actually hang them yourself? Is there anything about the cabinets that you find defective or insufficient or think could be better? Thank you everyone! Lockman Renovations, we had such a dilemma with the flooring. Originally it was tile (pink) with a concrete slab below. We couldn't match the timber flooring to flow into the kitchen, so we had to think of an alternative. This is the only thing I could come up with. It's ok, I like it :))

Update above - this is what we have done so far. We decided to not paint Hog Bristle but paint ceilings Vivid White and walls in Haymes Organic 3. We felt it would be too stark in just Vivid White. Organic 3 is a nice light linen colour. After living in the house for a few weeks we have decided to keep the floors as they are. Wished we could have afforded to put in longer skylights - the room is facing south so no direct sun. The skylights have made a huge difference though - thanks to Gary at VSKY skylights (Gary is installing the skylights on 2017 The Block) he did an excellent job. We also installed bifold doors to the patio area as the previous owners dog had chewed and scratched the cedar ones to death and they had to go! Now to the kitchen and bathroom!

As @robandlyn suggested Annie Sloane chalk paint and a wax finish, easy no priming required, watch a couple of you tube videos on how to use, great results and would suit your theme, I did a dark reproduction table a few years back, still looks good but I am going to redo the table top this year when we renovate but it is easy to do, a bed head would not need re doing, I posted my progress on houzz in article called 'painting a table' not sure if you can still find it
