It might not stay skinny out of the pot. Coconut palms drop coconuts...ooo:( Have you seen the Redneck Palm, it has an attractive narrow trunk with distinctive white bands and reddish brown soft " hairy crown shaft. From Madagascar and grows 10m tall. Very easy to grow, grows well as far south as Sydney. Common names: Redneck Palm, Teddy Bear Palm. Also written as 'Red Neck Palm'. " We have a few that are about 10 years old, their fronds are more upright than Alexander or Bangalow. They are self cleaning and fuss free really.

Unless you have the money to update everything else to better complement the bricks, painting them will give you a much more updated look. Over the past 18mths I’ve been working on the front and landscape of my current house, including painting the bricks and it has made the world of difference! I’ve attached a before and after photo! Hi 1991_kid, though this image may be a render, the stone tops do represent an actual material. You may like to look at the Natural Stone type called Quartzite. Quartzite comes in smaller slab sized that Granite and Man Made Quartz Reconstituted stone slabs and it is very hard (unlike marble) and comes in a variety of different colours. Quartzite stone slabs do come in various types of Grey and does come in a type that has a formation which looks similar to your image. Perhaps something like the Atlantic Stone Quartzite or the Taj Mahal Quartzite or the Grey Cristallo Extra Quartzite. Hope this is of help, Malcolm

Also you may need to rejuvenate your soil, add mulch , a watering system so your plants will survive, we have viburnums in a very exposed condition , they cop cold , heat , storms and they cope well as long as they have water, mulch , good soil and the occasional feed in spring, grasses would cope well also plants with a silver/grey foliage handle dry conditions well.
