Is there the option to get a nine drawer dresser instead of a tall boy? BTW...if you want a wall color, how about a golden yellow? It would complement the bedding and the floor/trim. If not a gold color, I think a light gray of the floor grout would look fresh and updated as well.

Glass splashbacks are fine but the cheaper ones available at Bunnings cannot be used above the hob and you would need a stainless steel or tiled section there. (This was the case a couple of years ago - they may have updated their range since to a thicker product). If you haven't priced splashbacks you are in for a shock as glass is expensive in the thicker grade needed for a seamless look. If this is your forever home, go glass. Otherwise the white tiles are inoffensive although the floor tiles won't be easy to keep clean. I think I'd choose to spend my money on something else there. Being a slave to floor tiles is no fun in my experience.

Hi there, I love the look of your 50's kitchen: takes me back to my childhood home but our kitchen was about 4 cupboards and 3 overheads!! By todays std it was like one of the pantries people are putting in!! I was impressed with the "see what you need to store first": that is the best place to start, then thought glass display cupboards were all the go but you have those! Unless you could copy them for the corners? Then I thought open shelving with micro on one: NEVER on the bench. Timber shelves could have bright multi coloured glass or china which was all the rage! Please tho do not go for the lounge curtains with red, orange and every other colour large squares: nothing subtle or quiet about them and nothing nice about them either!! Cheers Margot

I don't want to lecture , just pointing out some things I've noticed -- Often , 2 things that look the same on-line are quite different when you see them side by side -- different quality , different materials , etc . That's where buying from somewhere trustworthy is important . And sale prices are complicated . Some businesses have a high recommended price , but almost always have 20% or 50% off sales -- they get what they want $$$ wise , but you think you have gotten 1 over them . Other places have genuine sales to clear last seasons stock . Others only sell their unsellable stuff on sale -- in other words , theres a reason it is cheap . Still others need the $$$ , and you are getting a genuine bargain , but they mightn't be there in 6 months time . Not too bad for a rug , but not great for a car or TV . Basically , the best quality , sought after stuff from known suppliers is almost never 'on sale' . I pick out what I want , weigh up the options , and decide on the day who gets my $$$ from that point .
