Comments (8)Are you thinking a solid grey acrylic splash back or smooth metal finish? I think mirror would get my vote over both of those.... although cleaning may become an issue for you? I think the stone for both countertop and splash back gets my vote too :) Beautiful. Check out some of the Houzz articles/stories on splash backs.... great advice and inspiration pics that may help with your decision....See MoreSplashback help
Comments (29)Thanks everyone for your advice. I think i just want to do something pretty plain. Our floor is crazy and i liked a lot of the ideas, but they seemed to clash with floor. What do you think of the large concrete look tile? Is it too matt looking? The colour seems to go best with the bench, or that sort of shade. In the sunlight my benchtop looks quite yellow over there. Thoughts? Still too dark? Can i seal the tiles to make them not lookso matt. Thanks...See MoreSplashback Help!!!! size 4630mm x 735mm
Comments (8)That is a really long piece of glass to manufacture and is going to be really expensive to make and install. It may need to come from interstate. I hope access to your kitchen is good enough to manhandle a 4.630m piece of glass! One possibility may be to use two different materials as your splashback to reduce the length of the glass. For instance use a stainless steel splashback behind your stovetop that is matched in width to the stovetop, then a smaller sheet of glass on either side of the stainless steel, such as in the kitchen in the photo. You can see it is a smiliar length of bench to yours, but by putting in the stainless steel "break", the length of glass is much shorter and manageable, and the joint looks more natural between the change of materials. It will be a much cheaper option as well. Best of luck, Dr Retro of Dr Retro House Calls...See MoreLesleyH
