Be aware that artificial turf can get very hot underfoot. You could lay a narrow old brick or limestone paver path to clothes line for easy access and plant ground covers or low profile herbs (eg.oregano and thyme) to use in cooking. Hardy herbs or flowers such as rosemary, lavender, geraniums against the edges of the space toward the back. Even add some large long troughs of flowers on the retaining wall to pretty up the area. It looks like it could get quite warm there but maybe a jasmine or similar climber to climb up a frame attached to the part of the large wall where there is no clothes line. Julie I love that tan lounge. The only reason I’m thinking of changing my sofa is because we are thinking of putting a mirror tv where the mirror is and starting to use it as a nice family room. The current sofa isn’t that comfortable. So a new sofa is on the cards! Now you know I want to start with a blank canvas do you think I should introduce the tan leather or get a fabric grey sofa instead? And does the sofa colour affect the final colour of dining chairs?? Is this a new build or is there an existing fireplace? Do you want the fire for heating or aesthetics? If it’s for hearing is this your primary source of heating? Do you want an open fireplace or one that is enclosed like a wood heater? If it is to be used for heating then consider a wood heater, especially if it is your primary source of heating. They are much more efficient than an open fireplace. They can be freestanding or inserts installed into a fireplace. If you want an open fire and are more interested in the fire because of the aesthetics then consider a cast iron insert such as a jetmaster, which can be used in a fireplace of your choosen material, as long as it complies with building codes and fireplace regulations. They are much more efficient than a plain brick or concrete fireplace but less efficient than a wood heater. If you decide on an open fireplace, ensure that your chimney can be closed off when not in use or you’ll lose lots of heat up the chimney. Best of luck

i don't understand all the concern..(obviously won't be cheap or easy and probably needs an engineer to design the frame) but the firebox probably weighs no more than 200kg (less than a bathtub full of water and a bather) and the flue is suspended from the ceiling or a power flue can be directed through the wall or floor ..the challenge will be finding the most suitable brand and model (preferably zero clearance) and keen tradesman to organise the steel frame as the timber shelves are only decorative not structural ...we have a 250kg corten steel courtyard gate that is only suspended from steel hinges and they not only hold the weight above the ground the door also has to move...consult the manufacturers who should be able to give more specific advice
