Entry Hallway certainly a BIG Design Dilemma ?
Comments (14)I would paint the brick the same colour as your walls then follow the trim work you already have, I then place a sprint on the wall and place your wedding photo else where, I would also paint our door and window trim the same colour as the white trim to brighten the whole area. Also a nice plant but not a high one I think would also look nice,if your not into plants a then a empty bowl,...See MoreNeed help with a design for our Front Entry

Comments (6)@dkin0577, If the dark wallpaper works for you then go for it but the picture you have provided is a much larger area!!! We're all here to help with your ideas but ultimately it has to work for you. I love your secretaire and only wish I had such a lovely piece of furniture with sentimental value. Unfortunately, my parents never had the money, only buying what would work. Don't let anyone talk you into "outing" it but I do agree with Joshua to remove the lamp and photo, let this piece of furniture shine!!! Perhaps a wall light over the secretaire would look stunning. Most important thing from my point of view, is that the area looks tiny, so don't fall into the trap of over filling it, as that alone will detract from the very piece of furniture you are trying to highlight. Could be too that you could highlight this secretaire in some other part of the home and perhaps put a hall stand with a mirror in that area instead but on the other wall ?? Good luck again. Comments (16)Love all the wonderful comments above. The only thing I would add is: really consider what you want to use this room for... What do you want the room to do? Welcoming guests? If it is welcoming, then think about what makes you feel welcomed when you walk in - that ahhhh feeling.....maybe plants (a bonsai project would work well in that light), some family photos instead of a mirror, coat hanger behind door, buffet table (where you stand your G&T chrystal set on a nice sliver tray). Or is it a Staging ground for getting out the door? Then perhaps the mirror, some sort of rack for bags & hats etc, a bench for sitting and putting on shoes, cork board for reminders etc (it is possible to have these all behind a thin closet so closed doors hide any clutter). Whatever you choose, I just find it helpful to keep the rooms purpose in mind....See MoreLife Automated LLC
