The white isn't really a plastic. It's a super durable material that will give you long performance and I recommend it over the metal. I would only use the metal in an industrial/commercial type of location. You are very welcome!

I have a similar family room, with big windows and a sliding door and we have block out Roman blinds on them. They sit at the top of the windows most of the time as we don't have any privacy issues with being looked in at by the neighbours. We really only put them down at night in the winter. Ours have a creamy coloured background with taupy wavy lines on them. Very neutral. I never could have imagined that's what I wanted til I saw the fabric. I was lucky enough to purchse our pure white roman blinds on ebay for a fraction of what you pay retail , there are companies that would make them for you using your fabric, just type in roman blinds , you will be pleasantly surprised, and they are very easy to install.
