4 weeks to completion, from the wall removal and new window install, this kitchen now has a whole new feel to it. the island just makes sense and removing the daggy tiles to reveal the original floorboards makes all the difference. not to mention the new appliances and their clever placement plus endless cabinet storage space.

Dear Carol, sorry it took me a while to write back - I have been away a bit lately. Yes the reno cost on this particular project was fairly high. To do something high end in a 3 bedroom unit you may need about $500,000.00 for kitchen, bathroom, laundry, custom cabinetry through out, new flooring, painting, furniture, window coverings etc. This renovation was absolutely everything. Dreamer, with all due respect, I think it’ll take more than changing the colour of a blind to improve the original kitchen. The new update improves bench space and flow considerably. For instance the BEFORE area around the stove is tight and the position of the pantry is smack bang in the middle of the engine of the kitchen. IMO if you haven’t got the luxury of a walk-in pantry, then it’s best to have the pantry and the fridge at the ends of this style of kitchen, if possible, especially if you have hungry teenagers and large grocery shopping to unload. The NEW kitchen does it for me.
