What colours go with a slate tiled floor?
Comments (28)How funny. I just renovated (on a budget) my small kitchen and added exactly the slate look in tiles you have, though they are in fact porcelain. And I placed them throughout the house for continuity. The tiler asked if I was after a retro hippy look but it doesn't look like that at all. My cupboards were the same colour as yours and I utilised the bones of the kitchen and had the doors and Benchtops changed only. I also have plenty of light in the kitchen but chose white doors and as I was on a budget I chose granite look Benchtops, they are very serviceable and it looks great. The blue backsplash was the colour lift and here you could choose any colour to your liking. Basically the kitchen ended up with white cupboards and appliances other than cooktop, with the stainless cooktop and coloured splash back being the focal point. The paint colour are: whisper white walls, integra splashback, white ceiling and for increased contrast I used the same white above the splashback on the rear wall. Comments (31)We have black tiles in our house because we like black. We also have wooden floors. The kitchen is birch with laminate black granite bench tops. Our open plan works perfectly with the different floors because we have stayed with timber and black. Howver I love colour so we have incorporated red dining chairs and mustard and black cushions and rug in our family room. Timber look floor tiles are a great option, realistic and easy to clean. For you, the most important thing is to decide what you really want and go for it....See Morebest use of floor plan for resale
Comments (13)the house looks very dark so first suggestion is to have the lightest flooring possible with new white walls and remove, clean and or replace all broken and shabby internal and external blinds, curtains and support tracks and update fans and light fittings where necessary and, can't read the exact measurements and subject to roof structure, remove the kitchen walls and install basic white kitchen and reuse, oven, rangehood, sink and dw, add new taps and wall cabinets only on the stove wall add a generous island with timber or stone counter and, as there's no obvious front entry, instead of decking off the family room, first expand the front verandah with a covered pergola and decking and a new vibrant coloured front door...See Morewhat internal carcass colour to go with black cabinetry?
Comments (8)We have used black carcasses for a black and wood kitchen. Looks great and everything is easy to find. Cost an extra $1000 on the total reno but absolutely worth it imo. The white would look cheaper especially when pulling out the black drawers to see the stark white inside. We also opted for dark drawer runners....See MoreAmy Lewis
