How to match Blackbutt Hardwood Floor?

User

Hello,

We're remodeling a 2 y.o. kitchen and laundry to create an open kitchen and Euro. laundry.

The kitchen floor is hardwood (Blackbutt) stained in clear polyurethane.

We need to remove the laundry tile floor and replace it with hardwood to match the kitchen and living area floor.

We've been told by a flooring company that we would need to re-sand our entire hardwood floor (area 30m2) so it matches the thickness of a new laundry hardwood floor (area 2.5m2) and re-stain the entire area, which would be my definition of insanity.

For such a small area, are there any good pre-prepared products out there that would match this material and colour (sample as shown)? I have heard of vinyl planks but I'm not sure if they're available in the same thickness as the floor tiles being replaced.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

PL
