We did pressed metal splashbacks on a display in a kitchen showroom I used to manage, and as such many of our clients opted for the same look. Powder Coated is definitely the way to go. It stands up really well for durability and is in fact relatively easy to clean compared to many splashbacks. Often people think that glass or stainless steel are the easiest for cleaning, but due to being such a flat reflective surface they show up every splash and if you're going to clean them you really have to clean the full length of splashback. The textured surface of the pressed metal means that it doesn't reflect the same amount of light so you are able to get away with cleaning it less often, and you can also get away with just cleaning the dirty area rather than the full length. The biggest difficulty we found was getting the splashbacks installed as there aren't really any tradesmen who specialize in fitting pressed metal, and those that were willing to cut & fit it were concerned about what would happen if they damaged the paintwork. We had the panels cut to size first before they were powder coated to minimize the risk of chipping the surface.

HI Renae, I like your colour choice black & white, I went all white in my renovations of kitchen & bathroom and just by adding a bright coloured fruit bowl, vase, pot plant and a small painting in the kitchen made the kitchen look fresh whilst in the bathroom I just added bright towels bath mat. I changed the colours in winter to warm colours and cooler colours in the summer both kitchen and bathroom. These are simple and cheap things to change a look whilst if you go for timber it can date quickly and timber absorbs moisture so it has to be looked after (time consuming and $) looking forward to seeing your finished renovations.

If you are after round mirrors + lighting, I want to suggest the mirrors we offer at Remer. We have round mirrors, 600x600 as well as 800x800, that are LED Backlit with a Touch Sensor Switch. The LED lighting around the mirror makes make-up application and overall lighting on the face a much better than option than downlights, which create shadows over the face. I have struggled with these same questions. i have asked for advice from tradespeople, tile sellers, researched many bathrooms by designers and have come to the conclusion that it is ultimately what you personally will be happy with, unless you intend to sell your place in next 5 years. I am told that tiles are the most expensive thing to change if you wish to change the look but tap fittings etc is easy. I think as Kate said, you want to keep something in common across all bathrooms . I have seen one bathroom design change the terrazzo colour from one bathroom to another. If you have the space, accessories can also provide links to the bathrooms... eg towels, Knick knacks, lights etc
