Pressed metal kitchen splashbacks
Comments (17)Hi Jacey Eve, How is your splashback coming along? We are the manufacturers of the Pressed Tin Panels product (yes we sell it too - but believe we know what we are talking about- most of us who work here have a pressed metal splashback at home too!) I believe the great responses have covered what we would recommend for the panels as a splashback and that is the powder coating. It makes them a non-porous and easy to clean surface as well as a long lasting, good looking surface. With basic care it will remain that way for many, many years to come. We believe it is very competitively priced and an easy DIY product to install. If we can provide you (or anyone else reading this) a sample, prices, details of stockists, an install guide or a quote just let me know mardi@pressedtinpanels.com Visit our website for more info and ideas: www.pressedtinpanels.com Regards Mardi...See MoreKitchen splashback help & ideas pls
Comments (10)HI Lyn Depends on where you live, but here in Auckland, Winstone Glass will give you a glass splashback in ANY Resene colour, which would mean you could get exactly what you want. Personally I have a white kitchen with white speckled granite tops, and all walls white, so I went with a black glass splashback that has an ever so slight sparkle at night, doesn't sparkle in daytime. Looks stunning. You can get cheap pre made splashbacks at Mitre 10, Bunnings etc, but they don't use the glasskote technology, so you can see in behind them, whereas Winstones ones, you can have white and not see the wall at all. Good luck Julie...See MoreWhat should the height of the new kitchen's benchtops be?
Comments (10)900mm is still 'standard' however I quite often do 950mm for my clients. It is not a difference that will stand out as wrong, and is really more in proportion with the heights of people today. Some things to consider / look out for with the increased bench height: - often the joiner might try to put the extra 50mm into the kickrails as it is cheaper & easier for them. This DOES look disproportionate so I would definitely recommend paying the extra $ to put the height into the cabinets instead. - If you are having a free-standing stove not all of them are able to be adjusted tall enough to suit a 950mm benchtop, so check the specs carefully. You may end up needing to build a plinth for the stove to go on. - Be sure to ask for a filler to go above your dishwasher, otherwise you will end up with a sizeable gap between the top of the dishwasher & the underside of the benchtop. - The distance between any overhead cabinets & the stove top is dictated by standards, so an increase of 50mm in the bench height will result in the overhead cabinets (if you are having any) also being 50mm higher....See MorePOLL: What's your favourite kitchen splashback?
Comments (46)We had a guy who printed posters print the photo and stick it on the glass for us (to make sure there were no air bubbles). He delivered it to the glazier who was installing the splashback. There was so much interest as it sat in the showroom, the glazier then started offering glass with pictures actually printed onto them... If your wall was smooth, you could put the 'poster' print onto ther wall as another option....See MoreMKG Interior Design
