Just done my bathrooms up and didn't see anything like that in my browsing, didn't even see any subway tiles. Mainly searched the Northern Beaches. I did hear of a place at Smithfield that was huge, and very cheap but can't think of the name of it now. Try Google or otherwise let your fingers do the walking through the yellow pages might be the best option to narrow things down, unless anyone else can give you a direct link.

Hi, I have just installed a long span stone bench with an 80mm edge detail for a kitchen bench. Because it was over span and very heavy, we had to support both the weight of the stone and the possibility that someone would sit on the kitchen bench (not something everyone considers). We just designed a steel tube frame to be concealed within the cabinetry and behind the fascia panel, bolted to the floor with a couple of horizontal bars to support the overhang. We used a 40 x 40 steel tube and I got a local welder to make it up for us. You wouldn't need that big a tube. In your case, the support required is quite substantial because of the overall span along two axis. You have a couple of options here... 1. put a leg in 2. use the brackets as your stone mason had shown 3. create a concealed frame (will require a thicker edge detail) spanning from the cupboards at either end and bolted to the wall at the back edge. It could be as simple as this and could probably be done out of 25mm x 25mm square tube. Cheers...

I am trying to source a metal bath like the attached in Australia but struggling. I am not keen on the acrylic versions and as we are on a flooring system the stone is not an option at present. Thank you for any help.

Can I throw a spanner in the works here , and suggest 1 stone , but make it dark ? A charcoal , a schist , even something 'mottled' using mainly charcoal and grey and brown tones - your joinery looks to be dark , the rest is presumably rendered in some off-white variation -- anything in a gold toned stone is already dated IMO , and that square look yellowy gold stone ( your first choice ) may as well be pink or purple -- it will stand out , for the wrong reasons !
