Hi meusm, and thanks everyone for the comments. The open shower is a dream to use, there is so much space it feels like showering outdoors. The shower screen in 90cm wide. I was always worried about the splash, but its not a problem at all. A small amount of water does get out (I estimate 1/2 a cup), but we have a bath mat. If the screen was 1m I think there would be almost none (although this obviously depends on your shower head, water pressure and fall of the shower - make sure you get the fall in the floor right!). Because it is all open it dries very quickly. The pocket door is a cavity slider, which slides between the wall behind the towel rails. The sliding door was essential in such a tight space. Hi Bree, Our main bathroom is identical to ur bathroom. We r about have our bathroom renovated as well. Is ur toilet next to the bathroom as u walk in the door? We have our toilet next to the bathroom. There is a void space in front of the toilet that also leads into the bathroom. We r moving our toilet forward into the void as a individual room. We r then moving the opening to the bathroom a little further down the hall. The area that was the toilet is being reframed to be included into the bathroom and will be a shower that will be double the size of the current shower. Therefore we have a lot more space freed up with the shower moved for a larger vanity and bath. This was the only way we could keep everything in the bathroom without it looking so pokey. Wow, you must have a big bathroom to fit all of that luxe stuff in! Most 1950s houses have very compact bathrooms with tiny showers, minimal vanity and small baths. A double vanity, a walk-in-shower and a free-standing bath all take up a lot more room than what is normally allowed for in a 1950's bathroom so I hope you have it carefully planned. These items often look luxe as they are in bigger bathrooms and the space around them actually contributes to the luxe look. Trying to squeeze these items into a small room doesn't look luxe, it just looks try-hard. Make sure you allow enough room behind your freestanding bath to swing a mop for cleaning, and that your towel rails are more than 1800mm from your shower rose, unless your new buyer likes soggy towels! 1500mm is adequate for a double vanity, but it depends on the size of each bowl. A pair of smaller bowls will give the illusion of more benchspace. An 1800mm vanity has a better proportion if you have the space. The smallest I have seen is a 1030mm wide one from Ikea, with little benchspace, but I reckon it would feel too crowded with two average sized people using at the same time, so hardly worth while. Here is a layout with hall door in current location. You would need to upgrade or remove the window in shower. Cheaper option may be to move the hall door a little away from cupboard to get 900 shower in behind linen and put toilet at back. Not quite as pretty as the Home Mood plan but more floor space.
