5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoBest to get some sample pots made up and look at the options under different light conditions. You will find that your perception of the different colours will depend on the time of day, and what type of artificial light you have.
I think that white painted VJ panels seems very safe and generic, and a lost opportunity for something striking.

5 years agoThank you, Dr Retro. I have used sample pots but that is still not making decision easier. Flooded gum , I like the best but was dark. deisksu looked mauve sometimes. Silkworm e best but I'm still terrified of coloured feature wall now that it is crunch time. I have looked at so many images my eyes are crossed. As the staircase is in the middle of the house, painting the walls white has made it much brighter and the large colorful painting looks great. The very large gaudy gold framed mirror has had a makeover as well and looks fab also painted white. Comments (16)Sounds like you've made a decision not to cover any of the brick. Just to answer your question - the masonry adhesive is applied to the brick surface (not the Gyprock) in blobs approx 450mm apart. It sets pretty hard so to remove it at a later time you'd probably have to chisel it off. Any residue left in the surface of the brick could be touched up with brick coloured paint. 5 years agolast modified: 5 years agoNobody can make a valid comment without seeing your wall and sample pots in real life. Go with what you love and works best for you for daylight and artificial light. There is no point in paying the extra for VJ panelling then loosing it by painting it the same colour as the walls.
Don't think of it like a tattoo - at the end of the day it is only paint, and a long flat, easy to paint wall, so if you decide you don't like it, or it has dated then you can always repaint it.

5 years agoIf this helps at all, the colour on my feature wall is Silkwort. Depending on the light, it looks grey sometimes and a bluish grey at other times. As someone else said.....it’s only paint.
