Comments (10)Maybe paint facials white and put some white cladding in front gable so eye drawn to that not windows not a blue tinged white eg not dulux lexicon but warm white to go with cream blinds eg natural or polar white or grand piano 1/4 strength would also go nicely with woodland Grey and jasper - cb basalt also goes nice with woodland Grey maybe go 1/2 strength on walls as it’s a nice neutral black/Greywhixh would detract from purple tinge...See MoreMaster bedroom windows design advice please
Comments (5)I’d put bed on side wall without windows, May give u space for a chair At the windows. Door or no door. Have a look at the facade presentation from the deck with both options. Then consider how often you will use the door. Look at view lines from bed. Wil the corner obstruct view anyway, so is it just access. Also I note that the en-suite May be closest toilet to pool..... will you be having a drying rack on deck for wet towels and bathers. Etc. no definitive answer as your choice, i note I have a sun room in same position as your bedroom. We went the extra sliding door and never use it. But haven’t said thatI wouldnt change it As it works with my facade....See MoreHamptons facade advice needed!

It's funny, sometimes I see houses and they are obviously hamptons, traditional but relaxed , with lots of white and quality fabrics. But othertimes what is labelled hamptons... well it kinda isn't. It's just lots of white with up-to-date fixtures. And sometimes, dare I say!, it's synonymous with pretention and prestige. maybe that's why it appeals, because in the hamptons people had their summer homes and wanted it more relaxed, so for australians it gives a bit of class and elegance but doesn't feel too posh...See MoreUpdating a dated facade- advice needed
Comments (10)Thanks Kate. I like what you've done to break up some of that ugly cream and and to get some contrast happening. The height on the tree is another interesting way to screen out the window. I wonder if some other lust modern plantings might work the same way (just sans the screens?) Bringing several elements with the same colour in also sounds like a great plan. Do you think charcoal or black would work as well as blue? I like the front door idea Rosemary. When I visit next I might have a measure and think about what size might work. I had wanted to keep the screen door, but I'm guessing Id have to rethink that, as I think it would swing out and hit the post at the door. The roof is not at all clean, its actually a pretty dirty colour, which is why we're thinking a pressure spray might be a good idea, especially given that the roof needs to be repointed in places. The landscapers sounds like a good idea if we have the budget for it. Potsy, I definitely get what you're saying. I agree that there is no saving that cream coloured roof. At some stage we'd love to get it painted, but at the moment we have the bulk of our money being spent inside. I also like the idea of the grasses and flaxes/ modern planting (as bigreader also suggested) I like the idea of painting the windows, but wonder if the job lasts? Ive seen a few jobs that look terrible after a few years as the colour fades or chips away. Do you have any experience with that? We may throw more $$$ at it depending on how long we end up living there. Julie, I think Im also the fan of a lush plant up too! I will have a think about it. Thanks for all of your ideas guys!...See MoreJessica Z
