Master bedroom windows design advice please

We are designing a new master bedroom at rear of property. The bedroom adjoins an outside deck adjacent to pool area. We are wondering if we should have large sliding doors connecting the bedroom to the deck or just some large double hungs for a view. This might completly change the feel of the room. However just outside the bedroom is the family living area which will have a 4 metre door opening to the outside deck.
Looking for comments about whether connecting the master to the deck with sliding doors is overkill given the large opening is just around the corner. Would large windows suffice?
Also would the bed be better facing east for a pool view as opposed to running north south as per the photo, even though the room is wider E to West?
All comments appreciated.
