Can this floorplan be fixed?

We are considering putting an offer in on a small house that has an awkward floorplan, especially around the living/dining/kitchen area. I'm going to look into whether it's possible to build out the carport, but even then I can't quite put my finger on a good design. The ideal for us would be to have: a master suite with a small ensuite and reasonable size robe; a minor bedroom that is positioned away from the master suite; a study room or large nook; and a second living area that can double as a guest room on occasion. The existing kitchen and bathroom have been updated fairly recently so we'd prefer to leave them where they are if possible. The block is on a north-south street so north is to the top of the plan. I'd very much appreciate any ideas anyone has!
Edit: Plan in first comment.
