Very light grey on all walls would be nice or white. Lighter colours like white tend to make spaces bigger and in ur case this needs to be done. The artwork on the weight bearing wall (in kitchen) needs to go as this draws ur eye to the wall . The railings on the stairs need to be painted (either colour of the walls or white)as this will help blend into the background and make the space look bigger.

It is difficult to tell exactly what colours are there already, but I think you need to consider what kind of visual impact you want the fence to have compared to the rest of the exterior. If you choose a colour similar to the house, the effect will be a unified frontage and the look of a larger property overall, but giving the house itself less impact. If you would prefer to create a visual break so that the house retains it's dominance on the block, a darker, cooler colour would be best for the Colourbond fence. I personally would recommend blending the fence with the gate as opposed to creating a contrast (which can look busy), but it comes down to personal choice in the end. Try holding a colourbond chip up to the house from the other side of the road and you will get a vague idea of what I am talking about! Good luck with it all!

Hi pottsy99 - the back of the house is currently a light colour, but I will be painting it a crisp white and we have a red clay tile roof, so might work matching that. I'm feeling that a light colour might be better as I think too much of the same colour will be too much, although I will be planting a bit by the side of the shed where the tree stumps currently are. I also really like your idea Lauren, thanks so much for the great advice, might try getting some samples and seeing if I can find a deep navy that would suit, do you have any colour suggestions? Porters yacht race..... not yachet, is a good quality paint. If this is going on your front door, you have to be aware of any fading that may occur because it is a darker colour. Choose the best quality paint for a front door.
