A bathroom makeover: Before and after

Below is a bathroom renovation we recently completed in Kinglsey WA. I would love to know what everyone's thoughts are on really high mirror cabinets. Would you prefer having the high storage or just a simple mirror instead?

I really enjoy watching your before & afters :) I think the ceiling high vanity is an odd choice personally... I’m all for more storage but not sure if want to have so much negative space above my head when looking in the mirror.... god knows some days I have space to rent inside my head lol... don’t want to highlight more of that ;) I’d forever feel I would need to stand on a stool or stilts (& I’m 5”10) to really feel the full affects of such a tall mirror. Maybe some other photos from different angles might be enough to convince me otherwise?

From the angle of the pic it looks a little unbalanced. I would have lined it up with the top of the shower screen but if the owner is happy that is all that matters.

the closer the mirror get to ceiling, the more foggy it will be.
I think it looks good, though

And I should say our plumber installed the vanity, 4 sets of taps, toilet, shower head and the shaving cabinets. Before the work started the plumber came to disconnect everything which was very quick... Less than an hour.

Seems to be poor provision of task lighting for people using the set-back mirrors above vanities, especially in the area farther from window. I'm thinking fine tasks: eye care, make-up, shaving. It's a common problem in public building bathrooms: lighting at basins and mirrors so lacking or thoughtlessly positioned that it's hard for a user to fix hair, check grooming and so on. Was a lighting designer consulted for this Moonee Ponds job? Can someone offer advice about where to position vanity lighting?

I would have preferred the mirrored cabinets to continue across to the corner in line with the top of the window

I like the storage of a mirrored vanity but would want it to be as low as possible over the taps to get more of ‘me’ into the frame. Mirrors are used for checking out how your clothing looks, not just how your face looks. I don‘t mind the height but agree it could be a challenge to clean. Of course more mirror with the white walls will make the room seem lighter, and I certainly need all the light I can get to start the day off. I crawl out of bed like someone crawling out of a car crash. I like the bathroom makeover overall. Nicely done. Simple but elegant.

Cleaning is a chore that has to be done regularly, so i I would keep that in mind with what I choose.. In my humble opinion, I cannot understand why people have wall tiles or mirrors etc that are higher than they can reach to clean - they might make a room look bigger but cleaning has to be done for a LIFETIME.

Great job on the reno it looks great. I would have taken the mirror cabinets to the height of the glass shower to keep things in proportion and also practically speaking you would have to stand on a stool to reach the top!

I think it depends on the context. In our ensuite we have gone to the ceiling but wall to wall. So it doesn’t look out of proportion with anything. In our boys bathroom we have gone to the height of the adjacent shower panel. We were going to go to the ceiling but it looked out of proportion to the glass and the windows

I also think the cabinet height could be an issue and would prefer it wider than higher. But I do love the layout, fittings and colour scheme. May I ask what the flooring is .. it doesn't look like there is any grout?
